Collection guide

Build a useful skin-context note without diagnosing

Record preferences and observed cosmetic outcomes rather than turning a skin label into a universal product rule.

Scope: General cosmetic-use education only. This guide is not medical advice, a product guarantee, or a substitute for the product label. Reviewed 22 July 2026.

Prefer observations to labels

Terms such as dry, oily, combination, and sensitive can be useful shorthand, but they do not predict every formula. Notes such as comfortable for six hours, separated around the nose, or caused a reported sting are more actionable.

  • Record the area and the observable result.
  • Include the routine and wear time.
  • Keep suspected causes labelled as uncertain.

Know when the app is not enough

Persistent irritation, pain, swelling, or another health concern needs appropriate professional care. MakeupCast is cosmetic decision support, not diagnosis or treatment.

Make it personal without guessing

Add an owned product and record a real outcome. MakeupCast can use that private history later without publishing it as market evidence.
