Data attributions
Where third-party context comes from.
This page describes the current MakeupCast integration and the notices that travel with provider data. It is not legal advice or a promise that a third-party license will never change; the applicable provider subscription and license terms control.
OpenWeather
This attribution applies only to live weather that MakeupCast retrieves from OpenWeather. Weather that you enter manually and synthetic local-demo weather are not represented as OpenWeather data.
How MakeupCast changes and uses the data
When you request live weather, MakeupCast sends the city or broad-area name you entered to OpenWeather from the server. It does not request precise device coordinates. MakeupCast requests current conditions in metric units, rounds temperature to one decimal place and humidity to a whole percent, converts the provider observation time to ISO format, and keeps a coarse city/country label. A server cache may reuse the result for up to 30 minutes.
Provider snapshots can be stored with a Today Cast or WearSession and included in your account export. MakeupCast combines that context with your products, preferences, and wear feedback to produce its own cosmetic decision support. Those recommendations are not an unmodified OpenWeather forecast and are not medical advice.
License context
OpenWeather's published license explainer identifies an Open License for specified self-service subscriptions and names CC BY-SA 4.0 and ODbL. Those licenses include attribution and ShareAlike obligations when they apply. The exact OpenWeather subscription used at the time, its order terms, and the applicable license determine the obligations for a particular use.
Review the OpenWeather license explainer, OpenWeather terms, and official attribution guidance. If they conflict with this summary, the official terms control.
Trademark and endorsement
OpenWeather, its name, and its official logo belong to OpenWeather. MakeupCast displays the unmodified official logo only to identify the weather-data source. OpenWeather does not sponsor, endorse, or certify MakeupCast or its cosmetic recommendations.
