No fine-print magic. These are the boundaries behind the Passport, recommendations, evidence, privacy, and future pricing.
Using MakeupCast
Do I need to catalog everything first?
No. Three products you often use together are enough for a useful first Today Cast. Add details only when they help.
What does Today Cast do?
It chooses from products you own, checks similar whole-combination WearSessions, and labels the result as a personal match, controlled retry, or first try.
Does MakeupCast tell me what to buy?
Purchase checking is optional. It can suggest Buy, Sample, Wait, or Skip only after comparing the candidate with your existing collection and known evidence.
Is weather still part of the product?
Yes, as an optional snapshot around a WearSession. Weather is context—not proof that a product will behave a certain way.
Can I use MakeupCast without an account?
The starter Passport and free base-failure diagnostic work without an account. An account is required to sync products, Today Casts, and WearSessions.
Trust and evidence
What do Verified and Inferred mean?
Verified points to a direct product fact. Supported means relevant sources agree. Inferred is MakeupCast reasoning based on known inputs. Insufficient means a responsible answer is not available yet.
Does MakeupCast diagnose skin conditions?
No. It provides cosmetic decision support and uses self-reported preferences. It is not medical advice or a diagnostic tool.
Does a percentage mean a product will work?
No. MakeupCast does not use invented compatibility percentages. Any overlap number describes collection similarity, not a guaranteed personal outcome.
Where does product data come from?
The initial system supports public or licensed sources such as official brand pages and regulatory notices. Every usable fact needs provenance, freshness, and an audit state.
Privacy and money
Does the evidence system receive my private data?
No. It receives only a public product reference. Account identity, stash, notes, and WearSessions stay in MakeupCast.
Why are different features limited separately?
A Today Cast, weather provider request, purchase check, and live product lookup have different costs. Separate limits prevent one expensive provider from silently consuming the rest of your plan.
Will affiliate commission change a recommendation?
No. Commission cannot affect ranking or the verdict. An affiliate link can appear only after a genuine gap remains and must be disclosed beside the link.
Why is Plus checkout not available yet?
The interface and price hypothesis are visible, but checkout remains disabled until the production merchant, tax, refund, webhook, and ownership checks are complete.
Can I export or delete my data?
The account area includes app-data export and deletion. Identity-provider deletion and the final retention policy must also be completed before public launch.
